The question arises often when is the best time to buy a new Air Conditioning Unit. The obvious answer is in the off season, right? Well what is then the off season here in South Alabama, with long hot summer and sometimes brutally cold winters.

The answer is that time of the year when the quality air conditioning and heating companies are least busy and are in a panic trying to find work to keep their employees busy, so they don’t have to them lay off.

In our area of the country the best time is Spring after April 15^th, simply because we tend to have a late winter blast occur in last March and early April. The next best time is around October 1^st after the heat index has dropped and the weather is pleasant. At these times of the year we are trying to reduce the heavy use of our air conditioning system and have not turned the furnace on yet.

The next question is what leverage on pricing will you truly gain at these times of the year.
